Tom Bechert (Munich, Germany) shattered Rajne Svenssohn's school record and established the best heptathlon mark in the NCAA this indoor season on day two of the Brother Jasper Invitational at Draddy Gymnasium on Saturday. Bechert's total of 5819 points bettered Svenssohn's old mark of 5503, set in 2004.
